The Stewardship Forest Program was initiated in North Carolina in the early 1990's to promote the wise use of woodland areas for multiple benefits. The landowner defines their objectives by ranking four main areas of enhancement. The four areas are recreation, timber management, soil and water conservation, and wildlife. The Stewardship Forester then prepares a plan, using on the property's attributes, based on the rankings provided by the landowner.

William H. Lock & Associates, Inc. does provide the necessary services to obtain approval as a Stewardship Forest . We have two Foresters on staff that are qualified to contract with the State to write these plans and prepare the necessary documentation.
